It is with sadness we announce that the Bean Hole Bean Suppers have been cancelled until further notice. The arrival of the Covid 19 virus will keep us ‘social distancing’ until the threat is past. Stay tuned for more information about any changes that take place. In the meantime, thank you for your support of our suppers and our church over the past many years and, with hope and faith, we will be able to do them again.
Our famous Bean Hole Bean Suppers continue to be a long standing tradition at PVUMC. Started over 60 years ago, the suppers occur twice each year with one in the spring and one in the fall. Each supper offers three seating times, at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. This year the adult price per ticket will be $13, while the tickets for children ages 6-12 remain at $5, and children under 6 are free.
Dates for the 2019 Bean Hole Bean suppers are:
- May 4th
- October 5th
The meals are served ‘family style’ in our Fellowship Hall and Sunday School classrooms. The menu include:
- New England style baked beans served hot from the bean pot
- Sliced deli honey-baked ham
- Homemade cole slaw and potato salad
- Fresh bread or dinner rolls
- “Dessert of the Day” homemade desserts. Each supper offers a different seasonal dessert selection.
- Coffee/Tea/Lemonade
Reservations are recommended as the seatings fill up pretty quickly, and can be taken two weeks prior to each supper. If you would like to join us for a meal, please call Cathy at 860-379-9398.

Our next Beanhole Bean Supper is May 21st. I’ll pass your request for a schedule on to the Beanhole committee. Thank you for your interest in our church activity.
Good morning
Can you please provide me with 2016 dates for the bean hole suppers & how I can purchase tickets
Thank you
Cassie Jacobs
Good Morning and thank you for inquiring about our upcoming Bean Hole Bean Supper dates. The dates have just recently been established and I have yet to get them onto the website, so thank you for the reminder! This year, 2016, we will only host two suppers: the first on Saturday, May 14, and the second on Saturday, October 1st. Reservations for tickets can be made two weeks in advance of the suppers by calling Cathy Baum at 860-379-9398. This year the adult prices will be $12, while the price for children 6-12 years of age remains at $5, and children under six are free. Also, if you would like to provide your name and address, I can add you to the mailing list and you’ll receive notification about the supper dates. You can also give this information to the ladies at the ticket table when you come to join us for supper. Again, thank you for inquiring, and we hope to see you at the suppers!
Back in the late 1960’s, there were always leftover beans that were sold after the dinner at Church’s store. I was wondering if leftover beans were still sold and where one could buy them. I am coming to town for my 45th class reunion and it is Oct 1, starting at 5PM. I’ve been dreaming of bean hole beans for decades. Hope you can hook me up with some on Sunday so I can take them back to Savannah, GA. Lori Haynes McClellan
Good Morning! Thank you for your interest in our Bean Hole Bean Supper and we’re glad they’re a good memory for you. We no longer sell the leftover beans at the general store (that passed out of the Church family’s hands many years ago). Should we have any leftovers, and often we don’t have too many, we sell them to our church congregation after the worship service on Sunday morning. We’d certainly be pleased to welcome you to worship with us on Sunday, Oct. 2nd at our 9:30 AM service if you’re available and you can see if there are any beans left at that time. Or if you’re visiting friends or relatives while you’re here, perhaps someone can stop in during the supper and pick up beans for you. The best time to do that is 20 minutes or so into each seating (seatings are at 5, 6, and 7pm). That way the kitchen staff is available to package up the designated amount of beans for sale. I hope this will help you.
Beanhole Supper dates above are for 2017 and not 2016.
Thank you, Marie! I’ve made the correction.
